James, what real estate experience do you have?
“Having worked for Savills in the UK for a number of years prior to relocating to Spain I have a gained a vast knowledge of how an efficient agency is managed as well as how important listening and understanding clients needs are. I initially started out in Spain as a mortgage broker which helped with understanding the purchase process from start to finish and put me in good stead to start my own real estate company.”
What separates you from other real estate agents?
“At John Edwards, our aim is to ensure that once a client walks through our door they do not feel the need to contact any more agents. We pride ourselves on our keen ear and complete service. With our network of associates, we are able to assist with finance, legal issues, construction and other related issues. In short, we are not in this business to make one-off sales, we are here for the long term and want to ensure our clients return again and again whether it be for a sale or purchase and I think this will be clear after the first point of contact.”
What would be your advice to someone considering purchasing a property in Spain?
“I always advise my clients to carry out a lot of research and due diligence. You must ask important questions and be honest with yourself. What area am I interested in? Why am I purchasing a property here and how long do I intend to have this property? For example, if you are purchasing with a view to retiring here in the future you will not want to be in too remote a location. You must consider a whole array of questions.”
